About me

My name is Caroline Jukes and I've been counselling since 2002, helping clients with a wide range of issues.

I am a BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) Accredited counsellor bound by BACP Professional Code of Ethics. According to the BACP, 'Accreditation offers kite-mark status for individual practitioners...who are able to demonstrate that they are meeting a wide range of criteria, set to recognise high standards of knowledge, experience and development.'

Working in an ethical and competent manner is important to me and I am committed to providing a confidential & professional service for all my clients.

Although my therapeutic background is person-centred, I incorporate techniques taken from other approaches to suit each individual client. I have many years of experience working with a broad variety of issues through my work as an independent counsellor and my previous role as a counsellor for Worcestershire Community Alcohol Team.(WCAT).

I am Cruse Bereavement trained and have volunteered as a counsellor for St. Richard's Hospice.

My work has included significant experience of counselling within GP surgeries throughout the county.

I have provided counselling for Meningitis Now (please see their site for the comprehensive range of support and information provided), Blind Veterans UK, Sight Concern, Aviva and a number of Employee Assistance Programmes. I also provide counselling supervision.

Previously, I developed and ran a Brief Intervention training project for professionals and provided alcohol training for Mercianet for several years.

Prior to training as a counsellor, I worked for a number of years as a staff nurse and ward sister.

I have a BPS approved Certificate In Essential Supervision Skills and have been providing supervision for counsellors in both an organisational setting and as a independent practitioner, for over ten years.

Supervisee testimonial:

Your support to me during supervision is invaluable. Your experience, skill and knowledge cover such a wide range of issues and situations that I always know I will receive good advice and guidance whatever it is that concerns me . You challenge and encourage in equal measure and enable me to be  confident in my work with clients.
